Muslim Lookout is looking for writers interested in analysing representations of Muslims in Canadian media and popular culture. Created by two of the writers of Muslimah Media Watch, Muslim Lookout aims to provide critical and insightful commentary about the ways that Muslims are depicted in newspapers, magazines, television, movies, and other forms of media that circulate in Canada. For more information about our goals and perspectives, see here.
We are currently looking for contributors to write weekly or bi-weekly posts about current issues in Canadian media as they relate to Muslims. Contributors are also asked to keep an eye on the comments that readers make on their posts, and to respond accordingly. No specific background is required; all we expect is that contributors live in Canada and self-identify as Muslim.
If you are interested in writing for Muslim Lookout, please send an email to email@example.com with a description of who you are, what you do, and why you would like to be part of this blog. Please also include a writing sample of some kind.
Feel free to contact firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any questions. We look forward to hearing from you!
